acoustic bass shopping
So I definitely think I have my heart set on an acoustic bass. But I’ve decided that I’m not allowed to buy one until I’ve paid off my laptop, which should be buy the end of this year… but if I really get my act together, it could be earlier. And now that I have some serious motivation, maybe it will be earlier ;)
Here’s the two candidates:
Fender BG31
About $540 from Billy Hyde. This does appear to be the better one, and has some awesome reviews.
Monterey MB-05EN
This one’s cheaper at about $400 or so [$429 from Turramurra], but there is a couple of quality reviews for it out there.
In the end, it’ll come down to which one I enjoy playing more, and which one I think sounds better. I’m glad that I’m not letting myself buy one for a while… cos it means I’ll spend a lot of time looking around and doing some quality research.
