the weekend report

That was one very long, but awesome weekend. My hands and voice and body are exhausted, and I’m almost completely music’d out… *shock horror*.

Friday night was a bit of fun… with all the amps and such that I took up for the weekend, and with the PA system that Nathan took up, our “stage” (which was really just a corner of the room) was very full of equipment.

About half of that stuff came up in my car. And that wooden section that all our stuff is on is about a quarter the size of the room. We stood back after setting it all up and had to laugh - it was almost overkill :) But it looked very awesome. As I drove up with it all in my car, I was thinking to myself, “Hehe, I’m like a roadie carrying all this gear to set up.” But then I realised that I’d actually be playing the instruments… so I’m more like a struggling musician. Not sure which is worse ;)

We had some awesome times playing music during the weekend. We didn’t have a drummer, but that really didn’t seem to change things. And when you’re standing there playing your instrument loudly, and then the voices of everyone else just overpower your instrument completely - wow… that’s something special. There was a great time of sharing this morning - got to hear some amazing testimonies from people, and some times of trouble and celebration from others. It was just a time when it brought us all closer… encouraged us to lean on each other, love each other and support each other.

That was then backed up this evening even more for me with Deano’s sermon. It was a great encouragement on many levels for me.

And now it is hang out time at the House of Bach - just Steve, Rollo, me, and the Three Tops Toonie Chicks :) Good times indeed. Anchorman is on TV too… and that is a good fun movie for a Sunday night.

Tomorrow should be an excellent day - I have to go back and visit Woolies at 11am… so I don’t think I’ll be heading into the city. I’m planning on catching up with Miss Amie for lunch actually, cos she now works out there at the super-Woolies-headquarters :)
