when being a consumer sucks
When I ordered my gorgeous keyboard in April, I also ordered a stand and case. At the time, the guy said that the case and keyboard should be about 3-4 weeks, but the stand would likely be a couple of months because of change in ownership of the company that makes them or something.Anyway, the keyboard took about 6 painfully impatient weeks to arrive… but I was surprised to find the stand was there for me to pick up at the same time. And the case was apparently on its way. This was in late May.
Last Saturday, I got a phone call from Turramurra Music to let me know that the case I ordered 7 months ago had come in and I could come and pick it up! Thank goodness it was a voicemail message, because I burst out in laughter when I heard it. I’d actually called them a couple of times in July/August, only to be told it was still on order. And a couple of months ago I’d basically written off Turra Music and started to look around for a case from somewhere else… but just never got around to actually getting to those places to buy one. Anyway… I was quite excited that it was here (the proper Nord cases are massively more awesome than the 3rd party ones I looked at), and so today I took off to Turra Music to collect it.
But here’s the kicker…When I got home, I took out the bag and was even more excited - it looked better than I could’ve imagined. But it had “Nord Stage 76″ embroided on it, rather than “Nord Stage 88″. And sure enough, when I folded it out… it was for the 76 key version of my keyboard, not the 88 key version that I have. So it’s a mile too small. Yep… laughing more :)
I’ve just spoken to the guy, who was extremely apologetic and seemed genuinely embarassed… but unfortunately said he wouldn’t expect the next shipment of bags until February :(
Interestingly, he added just before he said goodbye that he’d look after me… wonder what that means? Will they refund me $150 of the $300 I just paid for this case? :)
edit: seems I actually paid a very good price for this case. Some searching on the net shows that the cheapest online price in many overseas stores is about $350-$400. Nice :) Pity it’ll be almost a year I’ve been waiting for it once it arrives…

I noticed the other night that Regi from MilkInc uses a Nord… so like I said before, when are you gonna start producing? ;)

G’day mate,
I’m after a Nord stage 76 bag - have you still got it and do you want to sell it?
Thanks,
Austin
