the friday report. brought to you by James.
Quite an enjoyable Friday indeed. The emails have been on the quiet side all week long which has been awesome - it’s given me a chance to start getting round the account team and finding out some opportunities and actually be proactive for a change. However, it’s also meant that my days haven’t been insanely long.
Today I discovered a coffee shop about a 5 minute walk from the office that uses Campos coffee. This is a fantastic thing. Campos, for those that don’t know, are a specialty coffee company that are based in Newtown. They aren’t all over the place, and their popularity has really only been spread through word of mouth. I still can’t remember the first time I found them… but I think it was by accident. And now anytime I’m in Manly, or near Newtown, I must take a diversion past the cafes there that use Campos beans. After talking to a friend at Kedron in January, I discovered that these two guys who run Campos are very strict about who can sell Campos… even down to dictating what coffee machine they must use in their cafe! And above all that… their coffee tastes brilliant - very smooth and rich, and not at all bitter. Love it.
Due to Friday afternoon quietness in the email world, and my lethargicness, I voted in favour of a trip up Pitt St to JB Hifi. I had been hearing things about Angelas Dish and In Fiction, and wanted to purchase their music. Unfortunately, no Angelas Dish CDs existed at JB, but I did find an EP by In Fiction. And I also picked up Paramore’s first album, All We Know is Falling. Some good pop-punkiness for my journey home this arvo.
Debbie’s on her way over, and we’re heading down to Mum & Dad’s place to have Chinese food and play various board games in celebration of Dad’s 49th birthday which is tomorrow :)
And there is a fun weekend ahead too. Beauty.

I’m not sure about Campos, it needs a little more “bite”.
Have a go at Morgan’s coffee. Now there’s something that’s a bit curious.
