exciting Saturday - new computer and new car… soon.
What an exciting Saturday it has been!
Sitting back at Debbie’s place now after a fun afternoon of adventures. Debbie is quite tried (after we both had a rather late night just talking last night) and so is having a nap while I sit here and enjoy their wireless internet and their HDD recorder and watching the V8s from earlier on this afternoon.
The day started with a visit to the Howie’s place to get Ham & Pineapple out of the tank for some in their plastic tubs, and then it was off to Macquarie Centre.
Debbie was in the market for a laptop of her own, and Jenny, Howie and I had made her see that perhaps a Mac was the best option. We wandered to Next Byte, but they told us nothing we didn’t already know or could find out on the internet… and so it was off to JB HiFi to see what they could do. And they sorted us out very nicely :) Debbie got a 2.1Ghz MacBook for $1450 (rather than $1499), MS Office for $200, and a 3 year warranty for $250 (rather than Applecare for $419)! Score indeed.
But Debbie’s fun times were over, and now it was my turn. We headed into Parramatta, and to the Trivett Classic Mini Garage. I sat down with Adam, who has been good to talk to on the phone a few times. But then it was time for the fun of taking one out for a drive. My goodness… most awesome car ever. So many cool features, and it really does feel like a go-kart. The power is amazing for the little engine, and the handling is brilliant. We sat back down and started to go through the options and cost… and that’s going to be the hardest bit now - just working out which options will be nice and which I can do without (for example, I probably don’t need a sunroof for an extra $1900, even though it would be awesome). I now have a new love! ;)
I’ll really only have about 3 months to get everything decided, cos they take 3 months to build apparently… and I don’t really want to be without a car inbetween changing from the Commodore to the Mini. Anyway… very fun, and very exciting :) can’t wait.
Soon it will be dinner time - hooray! Then Debbie will have the fun of setting up her new toy.
