Friday: possibly the best day of the week?

Big time hoorays must go out to Friday. What a tops day of the week it is.

Today was quite a relaxing day. Started with a presentation to customers about PDAs. Our marketing guys had organised it and had been constantly calling us to keep reminding our customers about coming and RSVP’ing – it got a bit frustrating during the week having marketing call us all the time. But I realised why – only about 5 or 6 customers showed up at an event that was supposed to cater for about 50 of them. Poor marketing people! Still, a free breakfast and a brief chat with one of my customers was nice this morning – even if it meant I had to be in the city before 8am for the second morning in a row.

But then the rest of the morning was pretty lazy. And then at lunchtime, it was off to Alexandria Bowling Club for some quality BBQ lunch and a fun game or two of lawn bowls! Very nice way to end the week indeed. My teammate and I won the first game we played, and so we switched up to the other end of the lawn and played against another pair who won their game convincingly… and it was close and very fun, but we lost in the end. Still, great way to end a week, and it was good to hang out with new work people and get to know them a little bit better. Apparently, they have already nicknamed me “Fry”, in reference to Futurama. I don’t know why [apparently I will find out on Monday], but once you have a nickname in this team, you’re in. Apparently. :)

Hanging out with Debbie tonight… we just had some leftovers for dinner. Or rather, I did :) Very yummy indeed. Tiredness seems to have gotten the better of both of us this week… we’re both just sitting on the couch quite lifeless.

But looking forward to tomorrow – Playjerise are playing at The Factory Theatre in Enmore! So very excited. Also looking forward to seeing Gethsemane too. Haven’t even heard of them before, but apparently they are quite brilliant - infectious blend of rock, soul, blues and funk.
