halfway to Brisvegas
Sitting in a lovely little park beside Jetty Beach in Coffs Harbour. Debbie and I have just enjoyed some very awesome fish & chips. There was even sprigs of rosemary in the chips for flavour!
We’ve just spent the last 7ish hours driving up from Sydney, and had a really good run. I was getting pretty sick of the 80 zones where all the roadworks are between Newcastle and here, but it my memory serves me correctly, from here on in is much better. Hoping to be in Brisbane at about 6 tonight.
Our music selection has gone one for Debbie, one for James, etc. So far, we’ve had…
- Chris Tomlin - Hello, Love
- Relient K - Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right, But Three Do
- A Walk To Remember - Soundtrack (if it weren’t for Switchfoot, this would’ve been painful)
- The Rocket Summer - Do You Feel?
- Sons of Korah - Redemption Songs
- Revive - Trafalgar St
I intend to keep my ‘R’ bands going… so I will need to think about the next cd selection carefully. :)
I’m quite envious of Debbie – I’ve driven all the way so far, but she’s very able to sit and read, or play games on the iPhone, or even do Sudoku. When I get my chance for a break, all I’ll be able to do is just sleep – I’ll end up making myself sick if I try and actually do anything. But sleep will be fun. Hopefully that will happen soon.
We’re hopefully about halfway now – we’ve done about 500kms, and have actually been driving for about 6 hours. Still got plenty of petrol left too – go, Micky.
Onwards to Brisbane…
