the first proper day of holidays

So it was the first real day of holidays today I guess. Yesterday was just driving all day, and fun though that was, it definitely isn’t the highlight of a holiday for me.

Today was only 3 hours of driving to get here to Hervey Bay, and some of that time was spent wandering through the centre of Maryborough to find somewhere to have some lunch. We eventually found a cool little cafe/diner, where we had a nice chicken burger before heading into Hervey Bay.

It was awesome to arrive at my Aunt & Uncle’s place. Thanks to the last few holidays up here, I very much associate relaxation with their beautiful place, so I felt pretty chilled out and very happy as soon as I got here. We sat around for a while just chatting and enjoying the beautifully cool breeze that was blowing in off the ocean.

It’s 10:30 now, and my gosh do I need sleep. I really should’ve gone to bed about an hour ago… but I’d forgotten how much my cousin and I both enjoy chatting about our churches and about music within our churches particularly. We can talk lots. And I think we will over the next few days. I very much enjoy seeing her – unfortunately it doesn’t happen as much as we’d like.

Looking forward to the next few days up here though – it’s going to be amazing.
