a long post about the last few days

That weekend flew by. I sat down this morning and checked the blog feed, and then realised that I hadn’t blogged for about 4 days. So here’s what’s been happening…

Friday was a bit of a mixed bag at work - I headed into the city with a couple of newbie Acct Execs to sit with them on some broadband training. I think they got heaps out of it, which will hopefully make my life a heck of a lot easier. But I bailed early, wanting to beat the Friday arvo city crawl. Debbie and I headed out to her school for a staff dinner. It was a really informal thing, but it was cool to chat with some of her colleagues – she works with such a wonderful bunch of people. And I even got to catch up with a friend I sort of knew from before I met Debs :)

Saturday was a little stressful – we had to battle the Parra Westfield traffic to find me some ties. I’m not looking forward to any Christmas shopping that is still to be done. We got the ties, had a coffee and then decided that neither of us were really in any mood to do anymore shopping, and so we headed home. The arvo was spent at Taegan & Josh’s wedding – some beautiful friends of mine who I’ve known through Kedron. It was such a tops day… but in the end, it felt a bit more laid back and casual for a wedding than normal; which is totally fine. But it made me feel uncomfortable, and stirred up a desire inside me to get up and organise it. :)

And then yesterday was pretty bludgy. We headed to Mum & Dad’s for some lunch seeing as we hadn’t properly seen them in several weeks, and then just headed back home for a Sunday arvo nap before Debbie headed to band practice. I headed down to church for my first week at Thornleigh Bapts with it being my new church home. It was a cool night… and the music was great fun too [I always love how much emotion music can evoke!! It's incredible!], and just made me long to be playing with those guys sometime soon. But in God’s time. A break will be good for me… it’ll help me find how I can best serve God and the church.

edit: And how could I forget Sunday night – Sam and the Howies came over for some hanging out time and then some Cranium. It’s a stressful game, Cranium. And after a comeback from the boys, the Gower girls beat us at the final post. It wasn’t a butt-kicking, as some would imply. And it signified time for some more Normanhurst Pizza. So good.

And now I am here at work. Struggling to meet my December target. It’s frustrating me all the more that the two tech specialists who work with the other teams around me have met their target, while I’m not even at 50%. And I’m working just as hard as them. I guess that’s the way it is with sales sometimes. Problem is that month-end is basically this week. Nothing will get done next week and after Christmas. It’s gonna be a busy week, and I reckon the account executives are gonna be sick of me harassing them about data sales.
