Freeview is simply the brand name given to the free-to-air networks as opposed to digital satellite television.

The 15 channels are:
ABC1, ABC2, ABC HD, 7 Digital 1, 7 Digital 2, 7HD, 9 Digital 1, 9 Digital 2, 9 HD, Ten, One, Ten HD, SBS 1, SBS 2, SBS HD.

If you do a search through the digital band you'll also find ABC3, SBS 3 and 7 Digital 3 which I presume must be in waiting.

Believe it or not, there are some people like my parents (my dad in particular) who won't otherwise upgrade their television until the analogue switchoff.
