cool words that aren't mine

I bought the new Kutless album today. They posted the first track up for free download a couple of months ago, and it sounded awesome. I just never got around to buying the album until today.

But as I sat here trying to think about the year gone by, and write down all my work acheivements in time for my yearly review, one song really stood out…

Was listening to this song last night. I absolutely adore the beat and tune of this song. But it’s the lyrics that I love more…

I heard the broadcast on the news and it made me irate;

I remember hearing Carl from Wishful talk about this song at AGMF when we went. He was talking about how he came up with this song - about how God would bring his wrath on cities that were disobeying Him. And how crap the world is today.

All I can do is just try and make my life one that pleases God. And pray for my friends and family. And try to change my corner of the world to be one that pleases God.

Sometimes when things get hard or stressful, all I want to do is just whinge or complain or sulk… it’s too hard to try and find what God wants to teach me through it. But then I stop and realise that’s such a cop out.

But I want to be one today, centred and true,

I’m not copping out.

And this life sentence that I’m serving, I’ll admit that I’m every bit deserving. But the beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair.

Desperate for change.
Starving for truth.
I’m closer to where I started: chasing after you.

Feeling tired. I stayed back at work fairly late tonight to get through some work… but I got heaps done and left feeling pretty good. Got a couple of meetings tomorrow before cruising through the afternoon and willingly into the weekend.

I haven’t done much tonight… cooked me some dinner and just watched a bit of tv. But thinking about a few different things of life and situations got me a bit down. Kinda strange… but oh well. I think I shall go and read my bible and try and listen to God’s words.

Entertaining thoughts, thoughts you know can have no reality.
Does passion hold no value?
What would it take to open minds as closed as these?

Taking everything I know and put it into action.
